Celina inherited both the cottage where her beloved grandmother painted her famous watercolors and a faded journal that hints at a long-ago Venetian love affair. It’s the priceless Canaletto hidden away with the journal that piques her curiosity, however. An art historian and appraiser, Celina can’t rest until she knows the story behind the painting—and how deeply the past owner, Conte Massimo di Palladino, touched her grandmother’s life.

Lucca Palladino doesn’t trust the lovely American who appears at the palazzo, particularly when he realizes his grandfather is smitten on sight. He’ll use any means, fair or foul, to remove Celina, including the seductive pleasures of a midnight gondola ride. All he has to do is avoid being seduced himself…

The Venetian Daring Seduction Italian Billionaires Jennifer Blake 9781519079251 Books

I liked the idea of the story, but it did not feel finished. There was little dialog between the characters, mostly background thoughts. When, why and how often did Lucca drop kisses on Celina when crossing bridges? What lead Celina to allow it after finding out he followed her for days? What was in Marilee's journal that was so significant? What was Massimo's reaction when he read the journal? Did he get to read it? Excerpts from the journal would have been interesting. Book one was sexier, with more character interaction. I did enjoy the second book's story line, just felt incomplete.

The Venetian Daring Seduction Italian Billionaires Jennifer Blake 9781519079251 Books Reviews

This is one of those romances that males you grin. Celina comes to Venice to find proof of the grand love of her grandmother. That love has colored every aspect of her life. She falls in love with Lucca, Massimo's grandson.
Massimo knows exactly who she is and his obvious affection makes Lucca and the family suspicious.
The past and the present romances are brilliant.
I loved this story about an h looking to discover her roots and her search takes her to Venice. She shows up to appraise an Italian Conte's art collection but is secretly there to see if they are perhaps related. The H is the Conte's grandson but he is immediately suspicious of the h and thinks that she is trying to pursue the grandfather. The H then plans to seduce the h for himself. It's really quite funny in parts but romantic too. I loved the Venetian setting, such a beautiful background to this story.
I enjoyed the story. A young American goes to Venice to appraise the art work of a wealthy Italian. He has a young grandson that is very suspicious of her intentions and then with the intentions that his grandfather may have towards the young woman. So they dance around each other for most of the story with him trying to find out what she is really up to and her searching out a secret from long ago.

It was an interesting twist of life!! Her grandmother missed her chance for true love and you have to wonder if she is about to do the same thing. history repeats itself. There were a lot of interesting facts about Venice and living with the water so close. There are lots of secrets as the story unfolds, some mystery, romance, etc. Good read and I would recommend it.
This is an incredibly light story built on a Cinderella-esque bent. Very little happens that isn't predictable, and most of it is very unrealistic and fantasy bent to the point of being uninteresting (rich men from foreign countries falling in love for no reason, fantasy balls, foundationless tortured backstories, the airport chase -esque scene).
That said, if you aren't expecting much, the diction and syntax are good, and it isn't a bad read if you want something very lighthearted with romantic gratification.
After inheriting her grandmother's cottage and a faded journal, Celina has more questions than answers as she discovers her grandmother and Conte Massimo di Palladino were connected in some way but the details remain a mystery. So she goes in search of answers. Lucca Palladino doesn't trust Celina, believing she's after money or his grandfather, the Conte. He tries seducing her but the more he's around her, the more he falls for her. Just who is doing the seduction and what about Celina's grandmother?

A sweeping romance in the heart of Italy. I loved this so much and highly recommend! Celina and Lucca sizzle and the story behind the Conte and Celina's grandmother adds a layer of intrigue. If you're looking for a romance that makes your heart swell, pick this up today!

My Rating 5 stars
A book by Jennifer Blake never fails to be worthwhile, carefully and invitingly crafted. She is masterful at vivid descriptions and makes you feel that you are there with the book's characters. This novel takes place in Venice where Celina Steadman has been hired from the USA to appraise the art collection belonging to a consummate old-world Italian gentleman, Conte Massimo Palladino, who resides in an historic palatial Venetian dwelling. Massimo is charming but sparks fly when his son, Lucca, encounters Celina. Therein follows an entrancing love story and an experience of being in Venice that makes you feel as though you can see, smell, and touch everything. It's the next best thing to actually being there yourself. Add a delightful romance (Oh where does Jennifer find these men!), conflict, and a little mystery and it makes for a story you will remember and enjoy for a long while.
Another wonderful story full of excitement and intrigue, this book will have you on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. Celina has managed to convince her employer to send her to Venice to appraise a vast private collection of artwork, after discretely suggesting they send an article with regards to a priceless find in the attic of a collector, that she had written for the Auction House’s publication. But what they don’t know is that she has a personal agenda behind the subtle solicitation. What she wasn’t prepared for was all she would eventually find at the Palazzo di Palladino. Lucca can’t contain his surprise when he arrives home to the Palazzo only to find the most beautiful woman up at the top of the most rickety ladder, not only inspecting, but praising, the portrait of his ancestor in a most desirable way, especially when he could pass for said ancestor’s twin if not for the centuries between their births. But why is she here? Does she have intentions of seducing his Nonno? If so, he definitely plans to put a stop to it now, the only question being…how?
Beautifully written, with a plot that is easy to follow and intriguing enough to maintain my attention throughout, this story had me hooked right from the beginning. Well done!
I liked the idea of the story, but it did not feel finished. There was little dialog between the characters, mostly background thoughts. When, why and how often did Lucca drop kisses on Celina when crossing bridges? What lead Celina to allow it after finding out he followed her for days?
